Scope of Work

What we actually do

Every line item, rate, and timeline we hold ourselves to — so you know exactly what lands on your site and when it greens up.

01

Residential Hydroseeding

Full lawn establishment on new builds, additions, and re-grades. We prep the seedbed, correct the soil, and spray a tackified slurry that holds seed in place through wind and rain.

Mulch rate
1,500–2,000 lb/acre
Seed rate
5–7 lb per 1,000 sq ft
Germination
7–14 days
Full coverage
4–6 weeks

Included

  • Site walk, soil probe, and square-footage measurement
  • Rock and debris removal, final rake and grade check
  • Lime and starter fertilizer worked into the top 2 inches
  • Wood-fiber mulch slurry with tackifier, seed, and biostimulant
  • Cool-season blend matched to sun, shade, and traffic
  • Printed watering schedule and first-mow instructions
02

Erosion & Slope Stabilization

Steep cuts, stream banks, and disturbed slopes get a bonded fiber matrix or flexible growth medium that locks the surface down on contact and stays put without staking.

BFM rate
3,000–3,500 lb/acre
Cure time
4–8 hours, no staking
Max pitch
1:1 with matting
Compliance
DC/MD/VA sediment & erosion standards

Included

  • Slope grade and flow-path assessment
  • BFM or FGM application on 2:1 and steeper pitches
  • Erosion blanket and matting where water concentrates
  • Silt fence and inlet protection coordination
  • Deep-rooted stabilizer species in the mix
  • Repair pass after the first significant rain event
03

Native Revegetation & Meadows

Regionally sourced native mixes for basins, riparian buffers, pollinator meadows, and no-mow conversions. Designed for the third season, not just the first month.

Species count
12–30 per mix
Seeding window
Spring & dormant fall
Establishment
2–3 growing seasons
Sourcing
Mid-Atlantic ecotype seed

Included

  • Existing vegetation survey and invasive assessment
  • Site-specific native mix selection (upland, mesic, or wet)
  • Warm-season grass and forb seeding windows
  • Temporary cover crop to protect the seedbed
  • Year-one mow-down and establishment guidance
  • Optional season-two inspection and overseed
04

Commercial & Site Development

Pads, detention basins, right-of-way, solar fields, and utility corridors. We mobilize with enough capacity to close out acreage inside the inspector's window.

Daily output
Up to 4 acres
Mobilization
Typically 3–7 days
Insurance
$2M general liability
Coverage
Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia

Included

  • Plan review against approved E&S sheets
  • Phased seeding tied to your construction schedule
  • Temporary stabilization for inactive areas
  • Permanent seeding and final stabilization sign-off
  • Documentation package for the inspection file
  • Insured, licensed crews with COI on request
05

Lawn Renovation & Overseeding

For thin, patchy, or compacted turf that doesn't need to be torn out. We open the soil, feed the biology, and hydroseed straight into the existing stand.

Best window
Late Aug – mid Oct
Overseed rate
3–4 lb per 1,000 sq ft
Downtime
None — walkable same day
Visible fill-in
3–5 weeks

Included

  • Core aeration and compaction relief
  • Dethatching and scalp mow where needed
  • Soil test with pH and nutrient correction
  • Hydroseed overseed at renovation rate
  • Broadleaf and crabgrass pressure plan
  • Follow-up feeding recommendations
06

Aftercare & Warranty

Establishment is the job, not the spray. Every project ships with a watering plan and a check-in so thin spots get caught while they're still cheap to fix.

60 days on establishment
Touch-ups
Included, no charge
Check-ins
Day 10 and day 30
Response
Within one business day

How a job runs

Four steps from bare dirt to a lawn that holds.

  1. 01

    Site walk & soil read

We measure the area, check grade and compaction, and pick the seed mix to the exposure.

  2. 02

    Prep & grading touch-up

Loose-rake the surface, break crust, and clear debris so seed meets real soil.

  3. 03

    Slurry application

Seed, tackifier, and wood-fiber mulch sprayed in even overlapping passes — no thin spots.

  4. 04

    Water schedule & 60-day check

You get a written watering plan; we come back to confirm germination and touch up bare areas.

About

Restore. Revegetate. Renew.

TerraForge Environmental has worked across Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We know what a Mid-Atlantic spring does to bare clay, and we know which seed mixes actually hold on a 3:1 slope in August. Every job starts with a soil test and a written plan, runs through a calibrated slurry of seed, mulch, tackifier, and biostimulant, and ends with a crew lead who answers the phone through establishment. Mateo, Raquel, and James run every site personally — licensed, insured, and accountable to the ground we leave behind.
